I haven't. Fire Emblem doesn't really interest me outside of Super Smash Bros. Even then, I only like certain characters.

I shall continue leading my expedition through life. One day soon, it will happen. Until then, I must do my best to succeed.

I had to look him up, but yes, I've seen him before. Specifically, his episodes on DK64 and DKC.



I still like DK64, even if many others don't. It will always be one of my favorite games, and nobody will ever convince me otherwise, just as I will never try to change their minds. Thus, we shall all live happily.

The "Playing With Super Power: Nintendo SNES Classics" book is out. They included my drawing of DKC1 and some of my words in the fan section. I still didn't get my free copy (it take some time to travel to another continent), but I've already watched some reviews. Also, I saw they printed few whole levels and thought about DKC Atlas. Is it your merit?

Those Jungle Hijinx images at 5:34 seem to be a perfect match for the carefully orchestrated objet d'art we all know and love. In particular, the alignment and scaling of the background layer make it stand out as being an unmistakable Qyzbud original.

So yes, that one and the other five levels probably came from hereabouts.

I am so close to finishing a painting. All I need is to have a few critiques and fix whatever is suggested to me.

I've been waking up at like 4 in the morning with my brain telling me that it's time to paint. Then I have to talk my brain back down to reality and try to get back to sleep.

I also want more than anything to post a picture of it... but I can't. Not for another month. I painted one of my favorite bands and I do not want to share the painting online until I give them the painting. I'm so damn nervous. I hope they like it. Tunnel vision gets in the way when you've been working so intensely on something.

Wow, that's really cool! The interviewer made a good point out of the fact that Reggie was the one that brought up DKC and Metroid. Perhaps this means something ala DK64 is coming?

I certainly hope so! After recently replaying the game for about the fifth time in my life (more or less, of course), I'm definitely hoping for the sequel to finally emerge. Remember when Camelot wanted to create a sequel back around 2012? Maybe it will finally happen?

We could also get Retro Studios Country 3 or a port of Tropical Freeze. That could very well happen too.

Not sure how I would feel about a port of Tropical Freeze unless it added a substantial amount of content. However, I don't see a new DKC game as a non-existant possibility. We could end up actually getting a new game for the switch!

If we did, I wouldn't play it for some time, no matter what type of game it would be, since I likely won't have a Switch for some time, if at all. My, I'm using many commas.

So I was thinking in the shower and it dawned on me- if Funky can pretty much fly anywhere in DKC2 with his barrel plane...... why not just fly to the top of the island instead of going through all the dangerous terrain? Nintendo you MUST explain this obviously important plothole to me

What's wrong with Tropical Freeze?

In short, the game doesn't stick to its roots. While there are indeed KONG letters, bananas, and Kongs, the bonuses don't matter, the "Lost World" is a joke, there aren't any DK Coins, much of the Kong Family and many animal buddies are missing, Player 1 is always Donkey Kong, the Kremlings are still absent (perhaps for the better), and most levels crumble into a plethora of bottomless pits. I also don't care for the soundtrack, especially when Stickerbrush Symphony's remix is treated like Sonic 2's Death Egg Zone music.

When would not liking tropical freeze everyone leaving the forum be good? I think there are still some of us here who like to hang out!

With most of everybody gone, now we can't insult people that we don't agree with. Everyone I know praises DKC: TF as if it is the best game ever created, when it clearly has flaws. Furthermore, although many Atlas members still use the Chat, hardly anybody posts on the forums. Perhaps nobody has anything important to say? I suppose it doesn't matter anyway, since new users cannot register, and the current community seems to have discussed everything.

If you like Tropical Freeze, then buy the deluxe version on Switch and play through it all as Funky until you wake up in bananas. In my honest opinion, it will never be as great as the original trilogy, even 20 years from now.

Time Is Up - WIP - just my latest work in progress, but I feel like it could be going into an interesting direction, so I decided to include it.

The way I compose music is kind of like art in the sense that I don't know what I'm doing as I do it, and I kind of look back to a finished work and I'm like, "huh? ok!" I have almost 100 work in progresses that I haven't worked on in 2+ years. Hopefully eventually. I also don't think I'm any good at all this is the byproduct of me messing around in Mixcraft for the last 8 years

Wow Cody, those aren't half bad for someone who does not know what they are doing while they are composing! Obviously, with music theory, they could be improved, but they remain very impressive without the help of music theory!

I'm really enjoying "Time Is Up"; I cannot wait for the final product! It makes me think of the music from Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie for the N64; in short, it provides nostalgia! In my opinion, your last 8 years have been put to good use in composing pieces, including the ones you shared!

Keep up the good work and don't forget to share the final product of "Time Is Up" with us!

@PegasusMan - Absolutely, I'll share it! With "Time Is Up" it just kind of came naturally, and I totally get a Banjo vibe from it too. I haven't added much since but it definitely will be completed eventually. Maybe if I ever learn how to do marimba rolls like Kirkhope does I'll make a midi and insert it into the Banjo ROM

The best way I can describe it is, when I compose, I have no idea where to begin and when I finish something, it's generally a combination of improv and trial and error. It's very similar to how I draw:

Feel the Bird | Aquarium Universe | Rocket Duck takes a trip | Midnight City ← these 4 are random drawings that I whipped up with an ink pen and printer paper, and I definitely had no idea how any of those was going to turn out at all. That's kind of my approach to composing, too. I can picture music in my head but just can't translate it to Mixcraft. With art it's the same but with pen/paper. I don't think I have any other way of doing art or music.... it's just how I am. I'm cursed.

Heck, if I ever improve musically or artistically, it'd be fun to make an album. Maybe in 2030 lol.
