The "Switch Glitch"

Here's a glitch that I accidentally found a while ago. It works in Tracker Barrel Trek and may work on other levels (I haven't tried). At the beginning of the level, run up right to where the waterfall starts (at the end of the little slope) and switch Kongs. If you did it right, you'll fall through the floor and lose a life! Weird glitch indeed. I wonder why this happens?

Here's a video I made too:

You know, I was going to make a video of this but due to my computer change (I posted a bulletin in YT), I couldn't. I was even going to name it "Waterfall Worries" or "Cascade Catastrophies" xD

I think it works exactly as how the floating glitch when switching works in DKC2. The inactive Kong "position" isn't reseted when switching, and the game finishes thinking you are behind/over the waterfall. You can also get to make the kongs walk behind enemies and don't get hurt. And it can also be done in Barrel Drop Bounce and Rocket Barrel Ride.
Like anybody says, Rareware needs to test they're games more.

I should have read here before writing the comment on YT, oh well =P.

I'm going to test this some more to see if it'll be useful for a TAS. Hopefully it will. Nice found.

Well that's a dangerous glitch! I guess the Kongs are bound to lose their footing if you make them switch past each other on a narrow, slippery incline...

I noticed that if you switch from Kiddy to Dixie to do this, you can hold Y + to have Dixie glide gracefully to the lower right platform. Sure it's a bit slower than spin-attacking the Bristles brothers, but it lets you K.O. the unsuspecting Krumple with that otherwise out-of-the-way DK barrel.

Tompa, how do you suppose this could be used in a TAS? This glitch drops you back down when the aim of the waterfall levels is always to reach the top... Still, if someone's gonna find a way to exploit a glitch like this, it'll be you. Good luck, mate. ;)

Actually, you can make the game think you are behind the waterfall and it may be faster to find a place to do the switch glitch and throw Dixie to a place that was inicially behind the waterfall (since the game would put you behind instead of over, but you would still be over it) =P
