Donkey Kong Country remake HTML5

Postby ribis » June 6th, 2015, 5:23 pm

Hi all, I'm working to make a perfect remake of donkey kong country 1...

I'm using construct2, and the game can be playable on browser...

another video:

my idea is this, when I finish to make everything (all enemy...etc) I want to make a different game (new levels...etc) and insert new enemy with a new gameplay...

maybe an horror version of the game? with some weapons? or just a brutal game? I don't know, when I fixed all bugs I will publish a first demo in this topic..

Now I'm working to edit the original tilemap from the first level... the original is to difficult to use for make a level, the tiles are mixed and I have to make simple...in the game I just use one big sprite for the level...

I'm thinking to make a multiplayer mode, where a player can play online with another friends, with the same method of the original game, or maybe move the 2 characters at the same time, just an idea....

PS: there is a possibility that I can make an editor inside the game, where the player can make a new level from zero (graphics...etc) and share/play with friends...

if someone have some suggestion, please, just reply here, or some idea to make a game better :D

thank you ;)

Hi ribis, welcome to DKC Atlas.

This all sounds pretty neat; perhaps you and udivision could join forces... He has also been developing a DKC engine with Construct2 (although progress seems to have halted of late): http://dkca.net/f/t1849

Oddly enough, I actually commented in his projects' thread in the Construct 2 forms.

I don't think I'm gonna continue the DKCW; this project looks leagues better anway. I can offer up a custom cave tileset I used though.
