Lol, that's basically it.

I was going to create a website for DKC and update with a few guides and game content etc, but then I found this place.

This is basically the only DKC site that doesn't suck/is dead other than the DKU

There's more than these 2. The others just don't have forums.

The focus was on the word "good"...

Any other sites are either freewebs put together on a lazy saturday afternoon, or sites which havent been updated in years.

That's because the lack of forums makes it boring.

Not much fun when the closest you get to talking to someone is the URL Not Found screen.

The other good sites are dead, and places like "DKC Fans" just have copy-pasted information from Wikipedia.

What I don't get is that place was getting more and more posts by the minute, and all of the sudden, it just stopped.

Crap... dkcfans.com gave my computer some kind of virus. I was able to get rid of it, but man... it scared me.

Really? Mine doesn't seem affected.

The show's not that bad, but it certainly isn't that good.

Glad you want to help, maybe a bit more information would be good? If you could edit into your first post a brief run-down of the Kong in Concert remix project, and change the Subject to something a little more descriptive, that would be great. Even if it's 'old news', it's nice for us to have a spot to discuss this project specifically (although we do already have a general DKC Remix Discussion topic here, with a fair amount of KiC mention).

Wow, Kongcountry.com is great, they even have the "Donkey Kong Country Exposed" video up, I just saw that for the first time.

My DKC fansite, I just started it and want to make it successful.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you a Japanese DKC-related website; http://www.symphonic-net.com/brambles/SDK/Top.html! All the images I collected are from this page; http://www.symphonic-net.com/brambles/SDK/Images.html

So, it has a lot of comparisons and such, but it's in Japanese try using Google Translate to translate to poor English (use a Firefox app called Google Translator for Firefox (that's the name!) to see). Maybe you all can contribute to a better translation if needed/wanted. Also, I have a collection of all of the screenshots there;

The first link you posted (in the OP) didn't work for me, but the second was really worthwhile. I didn't expect much from a page of screenshots, but they are nicely taken, incredibly varied and uniquely 'scenic' (very few of them include sprites/counters etc. - it's all about the background graphics). A fair handful of in-game GBA renders I haven't seen before, too! Thanks for the link.

After checking out the site you linked to (let's call it 'Arekore' or 'DKC Arekore', as that's what the title translates to), I must say there's a lot of attention to detail and appreciation for the design and artistry of the games - just the kind of passion I feel for the series, and the kind of tribute I'm planning DKC Atlas to be. Obviously Arekore is much more basic/primitive as web design and aesthetics go, but the written content (even when poorly translated) and in-game media available here both reflect a very deep appreciation for the DKC trilogy. I plan to have the Atlas reach (and yes, eventually surpass) this level of studious depth... but it's a ways away yet in most aspects.

It does seem like a lot of DKC-related fansites have gone the way of the Kremling* lately... in fact, I've gone through this topic and have crossed out quite a few that are no longer available - or at least not currently. I must say it's kinda sad, as there are a few in particular that were really good, but have now vanished. Oh well, at least there are those which are in it for the long haul, working to keep DKC love alive and flourishing on the internets... makes my efforts even more worthwhile, I suppose.

*Kremlings being relatives of 'the dinosaur' - and ones that have recently vanished from Donkey Kong Country, as evidenced in DKCR.

DK fansite? Well, I have my blog BeJungle'd (I hate how Blogspot changes .com into .nl! The site's in English! Grr...) where I mostly ramble about trivial matter but it's related to DKC! So yeah... it might be fun to look through. I'm in the progress of drawing a new logo right now. I also have Kongology, which is practically the same except more 'deep'. It doesn't have a lot of articles yet though.

ALSO I honestly can't stand the hate the DK cartoon gets. It wasn't that bad, honestly! ...For people who share this sentiment, you should check out Papier-Maché Lilypad, a forum that mostly concerns the show. I designed the header image. 8D It's a bit quiet right now...

I certainly hope there are no qualms to me sharing these links. ^^;

Oooh! Lovely Kongblogs - thanks for sharing! I love the graphic work you've done for BeJungle'd (the title/name is great, too). I'll be sure to check them out in detail when I have a bit of downtime. By the way, your Blogspot pages show up as .com.au addresses for me here in Aus - perhaps Google localise the blogs for each viewer, just like they do with Google search?
