The similar sounds, some same graphics, and what-not.
I never got why though, when DKC 2 came out it had different sounds from the first game.
(don't get me wrong, DKC 3 might be my favorite of the trilogy, but I'm just abit interested)

I was interested in 2010, I found out that there is actually strings from DKC2 in DKC3's code, DKC3 is built off of DKC2.

You know what else they borrowed? The background from DKC1's forest levels. The background of DKC3's jungle levels is the background of DKC's forest levels.
