DKC Error Screen?

I heard some people talking about how DKC had an error screen, but nobody actually has any images or videos of it.

Is this screen really real?

Yes. There are actually three error screens, but it seems like the region error is the only one normally accessible in the game:

Interesting, I'm glad to have record of these — thanks Matt!

Actually, according to the relevant Wikipedia entry:
The first blue screen that resembled an error screen was in the Windows 3.x series.

Windows 3.0 was released in 1990, and the last of the 3.x series (3.11 & 3.2) were released in 1993 — a year before DKC — so... I guess not. :P

They always make refrence to some mysterious "further information" in the instruction booklet.

Not once has such information ever existed beyond "DONT DO THIS STUFF OR YOU HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW". Not a single explanation or word was there for the pure-minded hearts out there who weren't exposed to legalese garbage. Seriously, the world would be a better place if copyright just didn't exist, because no one would have to worry about it anymore. Restrictions do not equal peace of mind.

Back when I was a kid I didn't understand what this was all about and thought they weren't giving any real reasons. And I didn't have any hacking tools back then either, not even a computer. But I believe I've stumbled upon the DKC2 error screen at least once in my life (real system). My used DKC2 cart is really buggy.

I've gotten this one from an improperly seated cart. Scared the hell outta me.
