Crazy thing I just remembered noticing! I believe it is the only one in the game! :parry:

As far as I know, it is. Unfortunately, DKC2 doesn't have a green-rimmed barrel in it to reference DKC1. That barrel was always strange to me. At least the steel keg is in DKC3 as well.

What was the green rimmed barrel? Was that like stop and go station? I don’t exactly remember. I believe that since they based DKC3 off of DKC2, that was left behind in the sprites, and for whatever reason it was used. :parry:

The green-rimmed barrel acts like the crate in DKC2 and DKC3. You can throw it at something, but it won't roll like a normal barrel will. DK Barrels might also behave this way.

Throughout the DKC series, DK Barrels mostly break on impact when thrown, but if I recall, in DKC3 there are oddly a few exceptions to this rule.

Somewhat related to this: DKC3 is the only game in the SNES trilogy where TNT barrels have a rotating animation when thrown. In the other games, they use the same frame as when they are held. This rotating animation has no fuse, as it was meant to be shared with the unused (at least until the GBA version) TNT variant of Knocka named Kracka.
