I decided to participate in the local state qualifier. Not necessary, but I decided it would be nice to be state champion again. Of course, I got first. It was the junior state qualifier, so no one was rated above 1600. I don’t mean to be bragging about this, though. I was worried something bad would happen, as I was sick and got a nosebleed in the last game. (That one, I had to settle for a draw, since my winning position was spoiled in a matter of moves.
