Unfortunately that statement also applies, more heavily, to their console games. Take Animal Crossing for example. In ALL versions of the game, there isn't one bit of code in there to check and make sure you don't have an invalid item (via cheats or otherwise) in your town. In the DS version this resulted in hackers being able to abuse the online access to brick people's AC:WW games to the point that either it becomes unplayable or the entire cartridge corrupts and is useless. All because Nintendo didn't check for invalid object values.
