EDIT: I just tested it, the LOWEST POSSIBLE percentage (without hacking) is 21%. If you cheat, that is.
To get that you would have to:

Take the first map warp that goes straight to Orangutan Gang in Vine Valley. You just press B as DK when he reaches the bend in the path between Jungle Hijinx and Ropey Rampage.

Every level gives you 1% and every bonusroom gives you 1% I think, just count the number of levels and add one 1% for beating K.Rool
With the famous warp glitch Simion32 mentioned you miss some % you'd normally get, of course.

That's not a CHEAT it's a GLITCH, to completely different things. But still.

How is warping a glitch?

Those warps were not intentionally built into the game; therefore, they are glitches. Even though they actually work.

Welcome to the DKC Atlas Forum. New users are urged to read the rules before posting.

As Simion said, the 'map screen warp' technique mentioned in this thread is indeed a glitch. It's an error in the game's design, rather than a 'secret'. It was corrected in more recent releases.

One guy on Youtube said that it wasn't a glitch at first and said that RARE removed it for newer versions because people just skipped all levels instead of playing them, basically.

I don't believe that for a second.

Sometimes the stories people make up to 'explain' things they have no clue about... are very foolish.

I *do* wonder why it didn't work in any of the Japanese versions of the game, though.

All right, I apologize. I assumed it was intended and therefore not a glitch. Obviously if it was unintended, and furthermore corrected in future versions of the game, it is a glitch.

Sana, just so that you know; my above post was not directed at you at all. It was a generalised statement, but in this instance it was more or less aimed squarely at that YouTube fellow Tompa mentioned. You raised a valid question, and I would never rip into someone for asking such a question... it's just people who tell others rubbish and attempt to pass it off as fact. That's what gets to me.

You're probably aware of that already, but I wanted to make sure I was expressing my thoughts lucidly. ;)

I suppose I should have quoted the post I was responding to. I didn't though, because I was just taking back what I said. I didn't figure your post was directed at me.

Of course, remember to put, "If you have 1.0/1.1 of the NA version, or 1.0/1.1 of the EU version..." and so on.

I got 40% on the GBA version. I guess you can get a lower % than in the SNES version, as the K-O-N-G letters, photos, and minigames add to your %. By the way, the photo of all the Kremlings is impossible not to get, because beating K. Rool gives it to you.

I saw a glitch in a speedrun were somebody went from a bonus in Orangutan Gang to Manic Miners.

Then I could just as well add in the glitch speedrun he was talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJOgJQZv3DQ
Finishes the game with 7%, which is currently the lowest possible.

And a little fact that most people may not know: Bosses don't count towards 101%. The upcoming TAS I'm working on will skip 1-2 or bosses in it (Thanks to warp glitches).
